Do boutique law firms take trainees?
Some do, usually one or two a year and often recruited directly rather than through the big application portals. Others hire only qualified lawyers. Either way the approach is the same: research the firm, find the right partner, write to them.
What work do boutique corporate firms actually do?
Mid-market M&A, venture financings, shareholder arrangements, corporate finance and the corporate side of fund work. The deals are smaller than Magic Circle mandates but the drafting is the same craft, with far more client contact per lawyer.
